My husband :)

I have the MOST WONDERFUL HUSBAND EVER!! This weekend I will be gone with my girlfriends on our annual girls weekend. I am so excited and have looked forward to it since I got home after the trip last year. Eric has not grumbled or pouted or anything about me being gone this weekend while he has the girls all by himself. He is such a good daddy. He loves our girls more than words can express. He is also being a good daddy and taking them to a 4 year old's birthday party tomorrow. It's a dress up fairy princess party....sounds manly, huh? I do not know what other things they have planned but I heard them mention watching a movie and eating popcorn and all sleeping in our bed. I know they will have a fantastic time. I will miss them all soooooo much but I will enjoy some time away with my bestest friends.
This pic was taken at the World of Coke in Atlanta. This was the anniversary celebration weekend mentioned a few posts back. :)

Picture Tag

I was tagged by my friend to post the 6th picture in the 6th folder of "My Pictures". So, here it is. This was way back when Chloe was about 4 months old and Eric was in Iraq. Chloe loved to look at his picture.

This next one was actually the 7th but I had to share it too. She would also kiss the picture. It was adorable.

The next step in the Picture tag is for me to tag 6 people to also post their 6th picture in their 6th folder in their "My Documents." I tag Amanda H, Julie P, Haley P, Meredith H, Christy S, and Carrie Anne R. Thanks for participating!! :)

The Other Woman

This is my attempt at sharing something that happened this weekend. Here is a little background information first. Eric and I celebrated our 7 YEAR anniversary on July 21st. We decided that we would go out to eat on the actual day but do something nicer this past weekend. Eric planned everything and it was such an awesome surprise. He planned for us to spend Saturday night at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Atlanta. He also had tickets for us to go to the World of Coke on Saturday and tickets to go to the Aquarium on Sunday. He had thought ahead and found a restaurant that we love (Kiku Japanese steakhouse) nearby that we would eat at Saturday night. I was thrilled that he planned all of this. Saturday morning we got up, went to eat at IHOP and then headed to Atlanta. We arrived at the Hyatt and went in to check in. I stood over in the lobby area near the reservation desk (still visible to the desk) while Eric was at the desk.
Here is what happened:

Eric: "I am here to check in." *Hands her his ID*
The Lady working at the desk: "Is this **** your correct address?"
Eric: "No, I have moved since then."
The Lady: *Looking at her computer at the reservation information* "Ok, so this *** is your current address?"
Eric: "No, actually that is my mom's. She reserved this room for me so I could keep it a secret from my wife"
The Lady: "Oh, ok" *Looking at him strangely*
From there they continue the registration process and Eric walks over to me and we head towards the elevator. He said "I bet that lady is looking at us funny." I asked him why and he explained the conversation that he had with her.

I am sure she was looking at us funny. She probably thought I was his girlfriend that he was keeping a secret from his wife. She probably had 3 things going through her mind.
1) That poor wife doesn't know what is going on.
2) That poor girlfriend (keep in mind that I am 5 months pregnant and it is very noticeable!)
3) What kind of mother does that guy have that would reserve hotel rooms for him to take his mistress girlfriend to?

I was so embarrassed. I asked him why he didn't correct himself and say it was a SURPRISE FOR HIS WIFE when he realized what she thought. His response "Oh well, it doesn't matter!" MEN!!!

I'm a dress..

I have nothing really new or exciting to post about. There are just a couple of quick things to share. First, Eric is now the Head Varsity Wrestling Coach as West Hall. I am so excited for him. Anyone who knows Eric knows how passionate he is about coaching. He loves the boys he coaches as if they were his own. He pushes them hard because he expects the best and will accept nothing less. So, in case you can't tell, I am so proud of him.

Chloe and Cayla are doing well. I am also SO VERY PROUD OF CHLOE!! Her behavior and attitude has improved drastically in the last month or so. She is such a joy to be around. She always has been but some days it seemed more like a chore to be "Mama". Cayla is so active and such a little comedian. She is also such a loving little thing.

Ok, here is a funny little thing that Chloe did recently. I am not sure I can really tell the story in a blog but here it goes. One evening after I got home from work I was talking to Chloe and she asked me "Mama, where do we live?" I told her our address and then we went on talking about something else. Well, later that evening my dad came by to visit with the girls for a little while. I said "Chloe, tell Papa your address." She wouldn't answer which is not unusual. She doesn't like to perform on command. I asked her a couple more times over the next 30 or so minutes. Then we had the following conversation:
Me: Fine, Chloe, what state do we live in?
Chloe: Georgia
Dad: What city do we live in?
Chloe: Gainesville
Well, that wasn't sufficient for me. I KNEW she remembered her address and I was going to keep bugging her until she told him. A few minutes later it was almost time for her to go to bed so I thought I would give it one more try.
Me: Chloe, PLEASE tell Papa your address.
Chloe: Looking at me in a state of complete bewilderment...kinda shrugging her shoulders as she says it..... "Papa, I'm a dress"

No wonder she was looking at me like I was crazy. She thought I was saying "Tell Papa you're a dress." I wonder what was going on in her mind for the hour I was pleading with her.

I've got you...

This is going to be just a quick post. Most everybody knows what a scaredy cat I am and with recent events in my life (a midnight visitor) things have been even more stressful. Without going into too many boring details - our visitor is still in jail and his arraignment was last Friday. I had kinda moved past this traumatic event until a couple of weeks ago when we received paperwork about the arraignment, etc. This has caused this fear/anxiety to become a prevalent issue within my life once again. But anyway here is the point of my post. Last night I was not having a good night. I couldn't sleep and was getting more and more anxious with every little noise I heard. As most of you also know Chloe sleeps in our bed. So, after I had been awake (scared) for about an hour I finally whispered to Eric and tapped him on the shoulder. "Eric, Eric, I am scared." He didn't answer. "Eric, Eric, I am scared." No answer. I was being pretty quiet and Chloe was still asleep. All of the sudden a little arm reaches up and wraps around my neck. "It's ok, I've got you," she whispered. It was the sweetest thing E-V-E-R. She then just went right back to sleep. Never even looking at me or waking up...she just heard her mommy in need and was there to protect.

The benefits...

A couple of nights ago, as Chloe and I were snuggling before she went to sleep, she got very quiet for a couple of minutes and then said "Mommy, do you know how much I love you?" My heart filled with love and my eyes with tears. I said "How much?" Her response was "big and big and big and big and big and big...." She said big about 30 times. We always tell each other we love each other big and big and big but tonight it was just so random but yet so perfectly timed.

Last night I was given one of the most prestigious titles ever given. Chloe told me (as we were snuggling) that I was her best friend forever and ever. She is such a loving and sweet little girl. Some of our best conversations happen right before we both fall asleep. Some nights I think I enjoy her sleeping in my bed more than she does. :) After Eric kisses us both good night and leaves the room he has no idea what precious things are said in the 15 or so minutes before falling asleep, in the dark, snuggled close, in just a whisper so that only the 2 of us can hear.

The benefits of being a mommy ... and best friend :)

New Year...Same ole boring me!

I have thought and thought about my New Years Resolutions but haven't really come up with anything. I need to nurture my relationship with Christ and be a better Christian - one who is constantly in The Word and more openly shares with others about my Savior Jesus Christ! I desperately need and want to lose weight. I need to be a better wife - one who is more patient and understanding...and other things that I won't mention. ;) I need to be a better mother - one who is DEFINITELY A LOT MORE PATIENT. I need to be a better friend - one who sends letters, emails, text messages, phone calls, etc to just check on people to see how they are doing and to just catch up. I desperately need to be a better daughter - one who shows more gratitude for the things that I have been given and the unconditional love that I am shown. I need to remove clutter from my life - physically in my home and my office and emotionally within myself and within my family. The list just goes on and on....

The girls had a wonderful Christmas and were very spoiled by EVERYONE! They had such a great time spending time with family and being loved on. Eric and I enjoyed watching them experience everything that is involved with Christmas. I can't wait until they fully understand the meaning of Christmas and why we celebrate. Here are a few pictures from Christmas and also some from when my mom took the girls for professional Christmas pics (see above about being a better daughter).
