For Goodness STEAKS!

This is a small portion of a conversation I had with Chloe yesterday after I picked her up from school.

Me: Did you have fun at school today?
C: I don't want to talk about it. (This is her usual response)
Me: What did you have for snack.
C: I dont remember....goldfish!
M: Who brought snack?
C: I don't know the boy's name?
M: Was it Carson?
C: I don't know.
M: Was it Jason?
C: I don't know the boy's name!
M: Was it Luke?
C: FOR GOODNESS STEAKS MOMMY! YOU HAVE ASKED ME SIX TIMES. I TOLD YOU I DO NOT KNOW!

There is nothing like being "put in your place" by a 3 1/2 year old! :)

Time to settle down...

This past weekend I went to Gatlinburg with 3 of my closest friends. We had such a great time just relaxing and talking and hanging out. It was such a nice break from the "real world" and was so refreshing. I love these girls and would do anything for them. I am already looking forward to our next "EE" weekend. The only bad thing about the weekend was that I came home to a sick husband. Poor thing...he had strep throat. I missed Chloe and Cayla so much and I think they missed me too. Cayla is officially walking but she still likes to crawl too. Here are some of Cayla's ONE year pics. The first three are a set "I am 1" I scanned them so they are not great quality. Hopefully I will have a link to all of them soon. Enjoy!

Bragging....Shamelessly :)

Ok Ok! I just have to do it. Here is a link to some pictures that we had taken of Chloe and Cayla. Check them out if you get a chance. We loved the photographer! She was awesome! If you need pictures taken you should contact her. There is a link to her on the right side of my page: Elana P Jones Photography.

Awww Man! I don't want to do this....

You've been Tagged! Tell us all 8 things we don't know about you. Then tag 8 others!

Thanks Sheyla :)

I LOVE JESUS and am saved by grace! I am a Christian and would never pretend to be something else.

I am terribly afraid to stay at home by myself…day or night. Always have been but its 100 times worse after our “visitor” a couple of months ago.

I am addicted to celebrity gossip and news. I check online at tmz and perezhilton SEVERAL times a day and read Us Weekly and InTouch every week.

I LOVE to read other people’s blogs even though I have no idea who the person is. I just find it interesting. Well, ok….I am nosy! I also love to read stuff on myspace. :)

I LOVE to shop and it is like therapy. Shopping was my best friend while Eric was in Iraq. Spent way tooooo much money!

I am a nail biter. As a kid I would bite my nails all the time. After having children my nails have become much stronger so I try to let them grow.

I get nervous and anxious about the stupidest things. I think I am a little OCD about some things. I CAN’T stand to be late somewhere…it’s almost like a have a panic attack.

I am very very competitive. I can’t play any type of game because I get so frustrated and ill. I can’t just enjoy the atmosphere and spending time with the people I am with…I am there to win!

I am already tired...

I am already tired and the weekend hasn't even begun. We are leaving in about 3 hours to go to Myrtle Beach with Eric's family. Eric and I will stay until Sunday and then we have to come home. Eric has to work on Monday. Boo :( Chloe and Cayla will stay until Tuesday and come back home with Eric's mom and dad. I will miss them so much especially since I know that I will only see them Wednesday and Thursday and then I leave on Friday for a girl's weekend in Gatlinburg. Whew!

Birthday Weekend

This weekend was BUSY! Friday night went to the West Hall High football game and didn't get home until late. Then we had to wake up early Saturday morning to go to the grocery store to get a few last things for Cayla's party. The party was great! I think Cayla had a good time and I think everyone else enjoyed the party too. It was a hard day for Chloe. She has always been the center of attention and this was the first time that Cayla was "scheduled" to be the center of attention. Sometimes it's just hard to be the big sister but she did awesome. I was so proud of her. She helped me set up and decorate, entertain the guests and she helped Cayla open her gifts. Well, more like she opened them and showed them to Cayla. :) Sunday we went to my aunt's church about an hour away to see my cousin be baptized. My parents and grandmother went too. Then we all went to lunch and Cayla and Chloe took naps on the way home. We had a photographer meet us at a local park and had pictures done of the girls. They did so good! I saw 2 of them this morning and they are so cute! I am so excited to see the rest of them. Chloe went to a wedding last night with my dad and didn't get home until pretty late. She didn't want to get out of bed this morning. She is so tired. What a weekend...

Anxious...

I do not know why I am so anxious about Cayla's birthday party on Saturday. But, I am! I still have A LOT of stuff to do to get prepared for it. I have put everything off until the last minute and so now I am stressed. I am so sad that my baby is turning one but I think what is making me so emotional about it is the fact that the older Cayla gets...the older Chloe gets. Cayla will still be a baby even at one and but Chloe is just growing up WAY TOO FAST!!! She is only 3 1/2 but time is just flying and before I know it she will be starting to school. She will still go to First Baptist Preschool next year but then the next year....BIG school. She is just too little for BIG school! Oh well...I can't think about all that right now. It just makes me sad worrying about it. Eric has a meeting tonight at church so he will not get home until 7 or so. :(

Feelin' Better

Well, last night was a pretty good night. Eric had a meeting at school so I was home by myself with the girls for a while. Chloe and Cayla both behaved very well and I was much more patient with Chloe. So, all in all, we all behaved well. :) After Eric got home I was able to chat with some of my October Mommies group and that was fun. I didn't go to sleep until 11 and I thought I would be soooo tired today but so far I have been fine. I also watched a little bit of my favorite show last night...The Bachelor. It was pretty good. Today, I had a hair appointment during my lunch break so I went and got my hair did. :) Eric has class tonight so my dad is coming over for a while to stay with me and play with Chloe and Cayla. Nothing really excited going on here...

Whew!!!

It has been one of those days! This weekend was good. We relaxed, played, shopped, and watch football games. It is really starting to sink in that my baby is going to be ONE in less than a week. I don't remember being this emotional about it when Chloe turned one but I am sure I was. But, there was a lot going on around Chloe's first birthday - Eric returned home from Iraq. This weekend I truly felt I should win the worst mother award. I was on Chloe about every little thing she did. In my defense I dont think she felt that great (allergies, cold, or something) and so she was testing the limits a little. I am vowing here and now that I will be more tolerant of her behavior. It is easy to forget that she is only 3 1/2 because she acts so grown up. I think I expect things or behaviors from her that are just not reasonable. *Repeating over and over in my head* "I will be a better mom, I will be a better mom" For that matter I should also insert in my new mantra "I will be a better mom, I will be a better WIFE." I have mentioned this before but I think Eric should be awarded another medal for his dress blues for putting up with my crap. I was also fussing at him for EVERYTHING this weekend. Here are a couple of pics from the football game:
I just love my little gores! (That's girls in Chloe's language) :)
